Vanessa Marie Smith LowryI am 28 years old. I have been married to my husband Matt since the fall of 2001. I am a mother of two; a son that is 11, and a daughter that is 4. I currently work out of my home as an inbound telemarketer. I also attended CSCC, and take most of my classes online. I am double majoring in Small Business Management and Associates of Arts. I plan to transfer to OSU to receive my Bachelors of Arts, then transfer to the University of Phoenix for my Masters and Doctrine degrees. My eventual career goal is to work for a magazine or newspaper as a freelance writer while publishing my poems, and screenplays.
My educational endeavors are basically for my own personal aspirations. In no way do I believe that college is for everyone, or that those you chose not to go to secondary school are in anyway missing out on something. We are blessed with certain talents from the moment we are born. It is up to us to decide how we would like to pursue these gifts. For me secondary education is a way of refining my skills, dealing with my faults, and modeling my gifts.
My artistic abilities may be limited to writing, but I am very inspired by other peoples’ artistic abilities. Again these are gifts, gifts I feel we should share with others to inspire, motivate, or simple give a moments escape from reality. There are many more ways art influences people, but that is the beauty of art; to be left up to the eye of the beholder to interpret.
My goal for using this site is to post some of the work I have done. I am still new to the writing world, and this will be a great way to get feedback from others to enhance my gift.
