A little about Me… I’m a curious one. I love to explore things, subjects that hold significance in my mind’s almanac; be it a flower (with or without an insect), a dead animal (preferably with insects), people (usually better without bugs), a factory, a car (so many fascinating things with and without bugs.) There’s not much that I don’t find interesting enough to at least think about photographing. The camera is an excellent tool for investigating, gaining perspective and sharing. Mundane objects can be made beautiful and interesting, and can also expose unseen ugliness. So powerful, so elegant. My first camera was a pinhole box camera that I made as a kid from directions in a magazine when I was 8 to 10 years old. Eventually, I inherited a 35mm SLR (after a few 110's and some family heirloom medium format point and shoots.) After attending Ohio University as a photography/film/creative writing major. I worked in film/video production for several years, primarily as a grip. I learned lighting and composition working with some true professionals. I worked on independent films, commercials (even an ENRON commercial), television programs, corporate and industrial videos. I loved every minute of it, but factors led me away from that… Through a combination of influences, from my dad and a company for whom I worked extensively, I became a programmer/web developer/general computer freak. Quite a leap, but one that added to my overall skill set, re-introducing me to the digital age at a perfect time. The combination of these fields led me straight to Digital Photography – the best of both worlds, as creative as it is technical – what could be better? And arriving in a way that allowed me to continue creating images as part of my means of income. Over time, aided by the fantastic advantages offered by digital photography, I’ve been able to pursue capturing images not only professionally, but personally as well. It’s art I tell ya… Thanks for looking, Bill Jones Technical Notes: All images are produced through an entirely digital process. Photographed using either an Olympus C-4000 or Olympus E-1 digital camera. Post Processing was accomplished using Adobe Photoshop 7 on a Windows PC.

What's on my mind...
