matt sesow
Matt Sesow is a full-time professional painter from Washington, DC. He attained a BS degree in computer engineering from his university studies in 1988. He is self-taught painter and began painting as a hobby while working as a programmer for IBM in 1993. Many of Matt Sesow's paintings are influenced by childhood trauma. When Matt was just eight years old, he was struck by the propeller of a landing airplane in rural Nebraska. The plane's propeller subsequently resulted in the amputation of his left dominant hand. Using the traumatic event as a springboard for his work, Sesow has produced thousands of paintings in his first 12 years of work.
Since 2001, Matt abandoned his software engineering career to pursue painting full-time. Currently he shows and sells his works at galleries and museums across the United States and Europe. His work is purchased and admired by a variety of big-time and first-time collectors representing a variety of "art movements". Sesow maintains and updates his webpage at www.sesow.com on a weekly basis with new work and news of venues currently displaying his paintings.
