Martyn Sutherland was born in Liverpool , on the 28th March 1970. Educated to A Level standard after school and college, Martyn now works with computers, but spends a lot of his spare time on his 'other career' portrait drawing. He started drawing at a very young age, and has attended several art classes and courses throughout his life, including Life Drawing classes, and a drawing course with the Open College of the Arts. His media is mostly pencil, but he has also used pastels, and occasionaly watercolours. Pencil is Martyn's favourite style, and one he has developed and persisted with throughout his life , and you can see the results on the following pages, by following the links in the menu. He has also completed a cartooning course, but now specialises in portrait drawing, mostly dogs and people.
