Jerusalem Pottery

The Karakashian family has been making Armenian hand painted ceramics, unique to Jerusalem, since 1922. It all started when a group of ceramic artists was commissioned to repair the tiles of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Among the artists was my grandfather, a master painter, who was glad to leave Turkey and come to Jerusalem. We have been making ceramics in Jerusalem since then. Our designs consist of traditional peacocks, flowers, gazelles and fish, contemporary designs, biblical themes, and themes with various languages. All tiles are suitable for use as wall tiles in the kitchen or bathroom, and for wall hangings.

What's on my mind...
