Artist's Inspiration: Artist Linda Paul lives in Colorado and every autumn is inspired by the beauty of the aspen trees in their fall colors. The leaves dance and flutter in the breeze. In this original painting the artist sculpted the aspen leaves lightly in bas-relief, then gilded them in pure copper and gold before painting in egg tempera made from crushed stone and egg yolk.

About this painting:
This painting was painted in pure egg tempera which I make from crushed stone and egg yolk. This gorgeous painting will last for centuries. For my ocher colors I use only natural ochers from the French quarries of Gargas and Rustrel, nested in a 12 miles long enclave, in the heart of the Luberon Mountains. The soft greens come from the earth around Verona Italy and from Bavaria.

Frame: Comes with 3" museum quality hand-crafted, solid wood frame. Frame is hand-finished in plaster & egg tempera by the artist in a pale ocher color

These frames are hand-finished by the artist in gold leaf with a red undercolor. The frames are lightly distressed to show a bit of the red color underneath.
