Newsletter Usage Policies
Each member on our site has the right to use the built-in newsletter system as long as the member abides by all site terms and conditions, as well as the policies defined on this page.
Proper Use
Newsletters generated from the Artistic Network website must always be about art, music, photography, poetry, or any other topic related to the creative arts of this site. Members may use the site to promote their arts and activities—but only as long as the activities are related to creative arts.
Unacceptable usage includes topics that are not directly related to creative arts, including but not limited to drugs, vitamins, sex devices, etc.
Including anything like spam material is grounds for immediate denial of newsletter permission.
Limitations
Members may only send two (2) newsletters in any thirty-day (30) period. This limit is built into the system.
Email Collection
Each member with Newsletter permission has a form on their bio page that allows visitors to subscribe/unsubscribe to that member’s newsletter.
Members may not have access to their email list. This is a protection policy for newsletter subscribers. No member may ask their subscribers (in newsletters or other parts of this site) to email them directly for the express purpose of collecting email addresses. Members may enter their current email lists into the system provided they first inform their members that they are doing so; all members must inform their members if they are collecting email addresses manually on their own sites—as a form of honesty with their subscribers.
Subscription Policy
Members must honor the subscription preference of their subscribers. While all newsletters include a link to automatically remove an email from a list, some members may feel leery about that approach. If a subscriber emails a member with a request to remove an email, the member must promptly abide by that request. Failure to do so is grounds to suspend newsletter permission.
Endorsements & Sponsors
No member is to include misleading statements of endorsements. With regards to the Artistic Network, no member may make any claims as to being endorsed or sponsored by the Artistic Network. If an article or profile is being featured, you may make note of that, but remember to refrain from misleading phrases.
You may include promotional links if those links are valid according to the rules stated in the “Proper Use†section above as well as in our Terms & Conditions.
