Why do we require so much information for member sign-up?
We require a lot of information from members when they sign up to uphold the integrity of the site. This site is not a blog, and we are trying to create a resource for both members and visitors. While we do not verify all information on the site, we do all we can to make the information presented as accurate and relevant as possible.
We require different information from different kinds of members. For example, individual artists, teachers and bands are not required to enter their address and phone number. Even if they do add that information to the system, they can control whether or not that information is visible to the public via their account prolife manager.
Most organizations are required to enter their address and phone number; they are also required to display it in their profiles. We do this to discourage non-organizations from trying to present themselves as organization.
Individual accounts are required to entered birth dates for the member. This requirement is enforced because we intend to protect any young members from seeing content that may not be meant for young eyes. While we do not permit pornography (See our Terms & Conditions), there may be forms of art that are acceptible for this site but not all members.
None of the information members enter into our database is for sale to any third party. The information is kept only for internal use.
