Let the Games Begin

The Saint Louis University Museum of Art added to its permanent collection the painting "Let the Games Begin" by American Expressionist painter Max R. Scharf. The painting is a gift of Paul and Elizabeth Zurlinden.

In 1992 Scharf was selected as one of 24 artists to create a painting for the United States Olympic Friendship Games held in St. Louis, MO. The painting, "Let the Games Begin", was auctioned to benefit the games. The painting has now passed from private collection to the SLU Museum of Art.
