Pictures of Zimbabwe

These are picture of my Motherland ,Zimbabwe, the land of kings. the one picture where I am walking on the ruins wall at the great zimbabwe was taken in the summer when the wild fruits were all ripe for the picking. the great Zimbabwe ruins is also know by some as King Solomons mines, I guess from the bible story of Solomon and Shebba , when Shebba was said to have travelled south to a stone Kingdom. Zimbabwe has the only stone kingdom south of Ethiopia and the name Zimbabwe was the westerners way of saying "DZIMBADZEMABWE" the houses of stone, stone kingdom.this is where the bird of God "shiri yaMwari" would link the shona people to the spiritual world the next picture of the thatched hut is at a remote stone carvers village at the base of the serpintine mountain in Mashava Zimbabwe, this is where stone sculptors from all arround the country come to quarry they're own stone and carver out of the city.

The last is a drawing I did of a shona man making an offering to 'shiri yaMwari" bird of God at the great dzimbadzemabwe.
