• Poet Bobby Byrd is the publisher, with his wife, fiction writer Lee Merrill Byrd, of Cinco Puntos Press, which published Clark's novel. Clark's portrait of him above is from THE FACE OF POETRY, and her FOCUS 101 contains an in-depth sketch of his life and writings. He and Clark met during his undergraduate days at the U. of AZ. He frequented the Poetry Center during her days in charge of it and he and his wife Lee, who edited the novel, became interested in her fiction after reading her collection of stories. They received a grant from the NEA to assist them in publishing the novel and have now put it through a second printing.
