My current work is a series of contemporary works on paper (watercolors) of objects, often toys (sometimes not) that are chosen due to qualities they possess such as shape, color, patina, and personal or social significance that I enhance through the processes of portrayal and painting. They have been described as humorous, unsettling, and engaging. The paintings are minimalist in nature using the unpainted paper supports for backgrounds, which lends emphasis and focus to each rendered object.
