Charlene Marsh

Charlene Marsh creates award winning tapestries and plein air oil paintings that raise the vibrational frequency of the planet and it's inhabitants. The fiber tapestries are made from hand dyed wool and, usually, metallic yarns tufted onto a cotton backing. The artist develops the dye formulas, hand dyes all the wool, and does all the tufting herself to ensure that the highest quality of energy is imbued into each artwork. Working intuitively, she uses a hand held electric tufter to punch the yarn through the cotton backing to the front, creating a one-of-a-kind tapestry. Recent inspirations include sacred geometry, the chakra energy system, yoga, meditation, and the mandala. The paintings are started "en plein air" -- a French term to mean painting "in the open air" and, thus are created, for the most part, on location. Charlene loves to hike her two mile trail through Yellowwood State Forest on a daily basis and backpack with her French easel to sites along the trail to paint "en plein air" in all four seasons. Connecting with nature and the forest is a way to connect with the soul.

What's on my mind...
