Things captivate my attention, little things, arranged in amazing ways. Simplicity and volume, described by shadow or line, etched by wind or flood waters. A simple walk can be a visual feast, noticing the patterns and arrangements of the ordinary objects we pass by each day. Clay is mud in my photography, demonstrating an array of great shapes and compositions, however clay also responds to vision and feel and creates volume and space, 3 dimensional as opposed to my 2 dimensional images. I work in both mediums, they complement each other and weave a strange thread through my life. I can not clearly remember a time i did not respond to and photograph abstract patterns and textures that intrigued my curiosity. It has only been recently that I have explored ceramics and enjoyed the textures and volume of the mud.

What's on my mind...
