The small man stands in the desert underneath his umbrella.  Is the umbrella protecting him from the sun or the rain,  or is the umbrella being used as a shield,  to avoid him being spotted? The answer is unclear we will have to find out. Perhaps the umbrella is protecting him from something we hadn't thought of!
